Still say the picture looks more like a zara then a pencil OR reverse atom, Flap. But I get where you're coming from.

It's true now that I just came up from the cave it does resemble an Arbogast Prancer. The Prancer had an external lead tail though. This version, BM's, is slightly thinner now than the ones I saw him test and that Prancer is thin as well. I would chock that up to coincidence.

Why even try.........

Dave, I do not have a pic but I know the Arbogast plug well as I had a couple but they are long gone now. Your plug, by shear coincidence, looks a lot like it but there are disimilarities as well. The eye loop was in the same place and the action was the same as well as the plug dimensions ( lengthxwidth). The Prancer hasn't been made in 25 years at least.

Why even try.........

could this be it? http://www.byronsantiquelures.com/prancer.htm

God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day,
And when it comes to my last cast, I most humbly pray,
When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be judged, as big enough to keep.

i think they look pissa!!
i'd like to troll one of those surfsters way back on wire in a certian channel in boston. way too deep for anyone else like cod deep.
or on a 3 way with about 16 oz when the tide is rippin' 4+kts and tears up the live bait. those would kill.
i notice a little marbly freaky paint there too. very nice

Got two prancers one from the beach and one from the welfoot flea. Their action sorks! BM's wood definately don't sork. if ya can keep thebloos away I really don't see much resemblance between those two lures Panzer Mac, I love that name.

NEW PROTOTYPE

I've been following this discussion and in fairness to BM offer the following suggestion. As an independent observer I will be willing to provide my services. Just send me one sample of each color of the new plug in every size available and I will carefully analize weigh and field test them for you.
In six to eight months I'll give you a detailed written report.
This should help to avoid and eliminate any possible claims of patent infringement or copy catting .
Since it is Christmas time I will forgo my usual fee for this important service.
Happy Holidays to all
Dan
