Specialist -

I get the venison sausage 'special delivery' from my sister-in-law in the Midwest - her husband's family has a big farm in Indiana - 3K acres, corn, soy and hogs - and he does a lot of deer hunting, so they make their own venison sausage - and it's excellent!

In fact, Joe's got one of the Indiana State record bucks hanging on his wall.

I used to get my bucktails from him, but cleaning and curing tails wasn't worth the effort to save just a coupla dollars. But I'll take that venison sausage any day of the week... just got some more.

I figure it's an even trade - when the missus headed out that way this past summer to visit the family, I sent out striped bass and smoked bluefish.

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.
