the median income could increase because people had more opportunity to work or improved their situation...

Wayne stated

"President Donald Trump claims that annual income for the typical household is up by an inflation-adjusted $5,000 since he took office."

"anyone else here make 5k more for the same hours worked ? I know i didn't"..

this is fundamentally flawed thinking

annual income for the typical household could go up because people got more hours, worked more overtime, got promotions or better jobs, got second jobs as well as raises...

Wayne, do you think you deserve $5000 more for the same hours worked doing the same work and if so why?

great question.

One of the kids working for me is making 10k more than she made last year. Same exact job, same exact resopnsibilities and expectations. My company does regular market surveys on salaries, we realized we were underpayng people at her level, so everyone at that level got a big bump. On of the reasons we can afford to do that, is because we now pay a 21% tax rate instead of 35% we had been paying. Tax cuts help, they just do.

Wow who made any claim of deserving anything..

Tump claimed 5k. Not me

Hell i can to that in overtime in a month
Ive done 30k extra in a year . Being able to work overtime is not sustainable in many businesses. It a temporary bump not something you can put in your budget

It is funny how you and others now believe in Job numbers and other statistical info from the Government. Just saying

And its sad the some feel people shoud be thankfully to have to work more hours or 2nd jobs to get by..

When most people would love 5k extra or see their base wage go from 35 to 40 or 20 to 25 k.. and stay there
