you lose jigs so frequently you stop having favorites and are just thankful to having one. Weight on jigs is dependent on the conditions and the depth. I believe in going with the lightest jig that holds bottom. Yesterday I was in 240ft holding bottom with 16oz, this summer in the same spot I had to use 24oz+ because the drift was fast.
I like silver jigs, but my favorite are the cheap(no names with quality tackle) ones at the Mass Bass Show. My buddies biggest cod this year came off a homemade copper tube filled with lead, no paint just nasty weathered copper color, not appealing to the consumer, but cod don't see to mind.
