Raven, with regards to your computer, sometimes it's only the power module that gets fried. If you have a friend with a spare, I'd suggest asking them to swap out the power supply and see if that works. Then you can buy a replacement power supply as opposed to having to buy a whole new machine.

well i was thinking that.... but even with the many power supply's i have lying around....they don't have the exact same connectors
that i would need to swap it for a different one...
but thats the route i'll be taking. ayep
