I can agree that a less of a length for comm vs rec is not fair.

How are most comm bsb caught?? Is it by net where allot of dead shorts get thrown back and now they are accounting for this in the quota?

I am fully convinced some years back the reason rec haddock went from 19 to 17” was for allot of throwbacks were in that range and were dogfish bait. Now retained to make less impact on the species

On this same theory wrt stripers if they are really concerned about protecting the species why are we comm harvesting big fish vs the same slot size as recs to let the big fish produce more eggs etc. don’t know....
