is what the states are doing then, in violation of federal law, or not?
doesn’t the constitution’s supremacy clause say that federal law trumps state law?
is it that the states aren’t violating federal law? or are they explicitly breaking federal law, and the feds are looking the other way?
if it’s the latter, then why do i pay federal income tax? why can’t i choose to not comply with that federal law?
