go stainless above and bronze below. The first thing I did on my boat is replace all those crappy plastic thru hulls. No thru hull should be plastic, not even above the waterline and ESP at, near or below. Btw when you go to replace them...I be some break off in your hands. The UV will get to them and they WILL fail, make no mistake.
