Some people report getting 50 mpg highway in the Jetta. We just got back from Finland. My wife has a ton of cousins there, and most of them are driving TDIs. Diesel runs 1.40 Euros per liter. Close to 8 bucks a gallon at today's exchange rate. Regular unleaded there is 95 octane and it costs 1.60 Euros per liter. They seem to prefer the bigger Passat wagon.
I wish they made one with AWD. A little Jetta TDI Sport Wagon with AWD would be perfect for me.
