I HATE cellphones, yet I feel like I can't live without mine. I upgrade to a new phone about every 18 months. I've had cheapo "free phones" and top end expensive ones. Price seems to make no difference in the way they perform or whether or not they will crap the bed.
I have my current one set up so that when I turn it off or on, it makes NO sound, such as some annoying jingle tone thingy. If I have a voice mail waiting, it vibrates ONCE and never makes any sound.
Regurdless of what model phone I may be using, my ringtone is Always just the simplest telephone ring sound. I find custom and/or "whacky" ringtones to be Very annoying.
Having said all this, I think having a screaming reel ring tone set for calls from fishing partners may be the best idea I've ever heard reguarding cellies. Maybe it would be possible to add someone screaming "Fish On!" in the background!
