Info on this plug
I've had this hanging in the shop for years and never paid any attention to it. Now that I have gotten into plug building I thought it would be cool to copy my dads old plug. I don't know anything about this plug except it is plastic not wood. It was my fathers and that I've had it for over 20 years. Does any know what brand it is or what its called. The front is concaved like a popper but the body looke almost like a Danny.

Bruce, it seems to be plastic although I didn't scratch at it. It is hand tied and the plastic seemed a bit odd forthe way the plug is assembled. Doesn't seem like a production plug. Thanks for the info guys. Has anyone fished these? How do they work, is it worth duplicating?

Old time plug
redtop carried and assembled them way back I think
they are wood
I think it's worth reproducing any classic plug
they certainly caught fish

Go for it. I've got some very similar Blue Streak poppers in the works right now. I'm betting they will work great.

whats the best way to figure out how its weighted? I know I can use the trial and error method but didn't know if there was an easier way.

It's a Capt Bills popper. They were the ist plug coated with epoxy. They picked up the idea from the old Finnish minnow that was coated with and acrilic coating from what I read.Bob Pond looked into doing that with the P-40 but didn't like how much time it took to get a plug from start to finish.So he went to plastick.
