Yes, when at a destination like say, Cuttyhunk. At home, not so much. I am fortunate to be only a couple minutes from good spots, so can pick tides or my hours to fish. I love the predawn, so that is usually when I choose to go, and then to work. I have often come upon Luds, Clogston, and Scottihamma in the predawn dark, and they have been out all night. That's mostly weekends as they have a drive to that spot! Big five ohh next year, so I needs my beauty rest

I can't handle them like I used to be able to do.

But they're highly productive. I like all nighters in June and July because the nights are short. I found when doing all nighters you are better off to come up with a plan beforehand and stick with it rather than improvising as night goes along. The more tired you get the worse your judgement gets and you end up wasting time.

What kind of shape you are in is a big issue with respect to how long you can last. You need to be fairly thin to handle all nighters - or even big trips. I noticed since I became over 40 and overweight I can't do a lot of things like I used to be able to. Skinny bastages like DZ and McKenna - those guys are 50+ and they can run circles around me.

Some weekends the only time I leave the beach is to find cell phone service to tell my wife I'll be a day late to catch up on 2 days of missed sleep.

[ Very often, I still pull... well... pseudo all-nighters where the tide is right at 12:30 and I'll fish right through until about 4:00 - 4:30... get home for 5:00 ish sleep until 7:00... off to work.... next night go out at 1:00............

Yup... this works for me as well.. it all depends.. some times fishing has been at spot X at tide Y, so you follow those conditions for a while until they stop producing, so each night is an hour later than the previous..
working 60-70 hours a week at 2 jobs all season limits me to 2-3hrs a night, 4-7x a week... all nighters are fine if you get to slack off the next day.. If I have meetings or have to drive a boatload of people for 12hrs.. allnighters would be suicide...

Living where I do has a major advantage though; for the tournaments or something I can do dusk-midnight sleep 1-2hrs and then 3-dawn..

that being said I did 1 or 2 all nighters last year, but one was the Spring MS tourney then slept in the car on the way to a wedding in NY and then the second was the fall tourney..

Not to much anymore. If I do it will usually be a night where I know I won't be working the next day.

I find it easier now to set the alarm and get out if a favorable tide and conditions are late night.
