Reel recommendations: dunkable big schoolie
Looking to get a new reel, which would be preferably dunkable no ball, but not required, looking for around an 8 foot rod with less than 1 oz lures
My Nautil has finally died
Something like a smaller VS but cheaper

The new Tsunami Shield . I checked them out with Toby at our show. They are bailed. 3k or 4k. Won't break bank.
My Nautil is still going. 25yrs.

Are you looking to be able to crank it underwater, or just dunk/splash it from time to time? That is a big consideration and sets apart many reels.

Back in the day, "Heavy dunk" could have been taking-on some good waves because you didn't want to leave the fish, even though the tide was telling you to get out, stepping off your rock from the wrong side or even into a unexpected sand pocket, but as you get older , a Heavy dunk is because I tripped on a rock and fell on my asz in a foot of water ...
