I have missed THREE friggin chipmunks this week.

Two I got by accident.

Here's a GREAT way to get them. Take a 4" piece of pvc pipe...tape one end...THIS is how I lost them! You got to tape the opposite end.

The put some seeds near the untaped end. Just a few. Keep an eye out for them...when they come to eat the seeds you need to jump out, they get scared and run right into the pipe EVERY time. Pick up the pipe and givem their own private swimming pool c/o your local water dept
First one I got it got away because I couldn't get the hose quick enough and I was 20' away and he got out. Little did I know there was ANOTHER in the same pipe. I put the pipe down and the little effer ran out. Hows that for a slap in the face.
I got another this afternoon but he ran into another pipe and I didn't see him. I picked up the first pipe...he runs out the other pipe
Tape the pipe. They can't run out the open end quick enough before you pick the pipe up.

I am up FIVE mice this week. 2 out back, one tried to swim in my pool, and 2 at the shop this week. Those little white plastic Ortho traps work PISSER and can be used multiple times

yea but no way to get to them. They're too close to the house and you'd scare them away opening a door.

				lil Bastid's population skyrockeded

i strained my back hauling pink sand today to fill holes
with sand and garden rocks in the 40% shade house

as i walked down there yesterday two of em
said: hey! we like the new wall Dude. They are
snipping off cabage leaves for no reason.

Good idea on using the pipe , as i forgot that trick.
must be due to OLD age

the main coon cat has little interest in the chippy's
he's more of an exclusive mouser

But a Fisher was screaming bigtime the other night
and he was growling loudly.... so i had to go out
@ 11:00 pm and scoop him up for the wifey.

		 Chippy Stairway to heaven..

Fill 5 gallon pail 1/2 way with water. Dump in enough black oil sunflower seeds to cover the top. Place pail next to outside stairs where chippys roam.. put wooden plank to edge of pail and sprinkle a few seeds along the plank..... chippys see all that seed and jump in... drown in about 5 minutes...

the problem with that idea is that the black sunflower seeds don't float for very long and the striped ones are best for floating
but they're much harder to find....

				Gopher traps

when you set a gopher trap in their main tunnel
the back of the trap has a nickle sized hole in the back
so the gopher thinks there is a tunnel opening ahead
bumps into the triggering mechanism and gets killed

I'm going to use this technique (trick) today on my
pipe traps... to fool those damned chippy's.

YOUR KILLIN ME they're coming OUT of the woods
Chopped up some holes last night and filled with stone. They really been going nuts around the pool again.

Jumped in the truck this am and saw another on the front steps...I now have his secret front step safe zone spot....little bastid saw me looking at him and hid behind the blocks next to the stairs. Almost looked like he was peeking around the corner at me.

4" pipe is going there this afternoon

NEBE your a sick bastid. I love it

Spence: Nearby woods are easily traveresed by the Wiley chipmunk and they will soon return... by listening to other chippy's chirping away and their hearing is Phenomenal.

Taking them to a further location is the only recourse and that isn't cost effective unless you have other reasons for going there....

Like going to Uxbridge for example
While Salties at the shop

Got another last night. Sat down at the table for dinner....look out the window and one is sitting on a log next to the pool. Run down stairs, load, pump 10x walk out back...one shot. Thing sat there for 10 seconds then just fell off the side of the log

		2 more this afternoon.
One was 10' up a tree he did a 4 legged electrified jump to a pile on the ground.

Second was in same tree on opposite side 20 minutes later. Did the pause sit and death fall.

I'm beginning to see that there are ALOT more of these things than I thought. There's fresh digs all over the yard on the hills, under fences, in a dirt pile, next to garage etc.

I've got quite a few of these things confirmed dead already.
Holy moly!

Wasn't it suggested you go the pellet rifle route months ago? You see how easy they make it and how effective they can be. No more running out to grab traps, just a quick effortless resolution.

The other day a tree rat was on one of my feeders about 30yrds away. Before, I'd go outside yelling and flailing my arms like an idiot. Now, I casually walk over, get the pellet rifle, open the sliding door, pull the trigger and get back to what I was doing. The foxes and feral cats take care of the cleanup.

LOL yep I shoulda done it a while ago. I saw more of them near the house and figured there was no way to get to them. You just got to wait in the driveway or the backyard for them in the afternoon seems to be a great time to get them. They don't seem to be active in the early evening. I been finding 2-3pm is a good time
I haven't started on the squirrels yet I just want to get these freakin burrowers done with for now.
