 ...ok, I need to know something. I am trying to use the "trace" feature to trace a pencil-drawn sketch. Problem: It's tracing too thick, sometimes just filling areas in black....I know I have a LOT of reading to do, but if you two could share some small short-cuts, it would be mucho appreciatedo ...
Also, after I've toyed with it in Illustrator, how do I convert it back to a jpeg or bitmap file? If the answers are too lengthy, just tell me to do some reading, no harm done-

I would prepare all your line art in photoshop then you can save it as a jpeg or bitmap in there....
when you take a sketch into illustrator you have to create a new layer to keep the original image..that way you do not mess it up...here i have attached an example...this is in illustrator....make sure to lock the layer that the picture is in too |
