My plug shop is finally finished
I've been working on this off and on over the past year-and-a-half. My father helped, despite cancer (he is a seriously tough Mick').
It's way overkill for a wood shop (sheet rock, laminate flooring, custom cabinets with maple drawers, including a sound-deadening enclosure for the dust collector), but I'm very happy with it.
I guess it's time to actually do some building.

wow.... You should send some pics to Jet. See if they can use them in exchange for whatever you can use/get..... Enclosed dust collector is well thought out.
Where did you plumb the compressor?
And do I see two drill presses?

Too clean 
You need ground wires on that dust collection hose. Can't tell from the pics but it doesn't look like there's wires around the fittings...You are going to have a problem with that collection bag when it gets part full. Just from experience with that unit.. |

Holy smokes! Wish my bedroom was that nice. Been meaning to lift my drill press as well. Just actually have to do it.
Dust/wood chips and laminate floors might end up sketchy?

The garage is on the other side of the wall the JWL1220 is on, the compressor is in there. I had the 15" drill press on top of the dust collector cabinet, but I moved it into the garage where it is better served (along with the table and chop saws).
I have a wire tapping the house's grounding rod, it comes through the wall next to the JWL1014. I do still have to run it through the collection system. I used that collector last year, I have to empty the bag at about 1/3 full.
The chips and dust seem OK so far on the laminate floor, but I sweep up any metal shavings immediately so I don't grind them in.

that unit generates some static too. I get shocked on just the single hose |

Eric do not run that collector again until you add a #14 stranded copper wire through that whole thing. It don't take much for a dust explosion and like Bill said it can and will generate a charge there.

Looks good. Now you need a roll around table to pull up next to each machine as you work.
What was the resoning behind placing the drillpress elsewhere?

Bill, he had two drill presses. Stand up stays in shop. He moved bench top to garage.
Eric, I'm glad you mentioned what you had in garage... Was wondering how you managed without tablesaw and mitersaw. If you have the room, try this for having the miter saw in the shop

Bill: I had a rolling cart, but it took up too much room and didn't allow me to get my legs under the table as I sat on the stool. I have enough bench space next to the 17" press, and I use the pegboard next to the band saw.
Thanks, NF. Just because of the excessive dust, I prefer to use the saws in the driveway.

Nice job Eric.... none of my buisness, but , you might consider making that collector 2 stage, by building a collection bin or using a kit for a 30 gallon can.. ... it saves on emptying the bag, and keeps large debris out of the impeller in case of a plug explosion...
