Air Up!
Going thru some old stuff, came across this crappy old B&W pic, but, it still gives me a chuckle... forget the puny fish, take note how the other fellow is airing up the tires in the buggy!!!!

Hey Karl - I remember using a spark plug - hollowed and adapted to a hose to air up. It took the place of the bike pump. We could actually air up all four in about a hour from scratch. Scratch was 9 or 10 pounds, and we worried about spinning the tire and screwing up the tube. Always carried a spare tube along.
I often wonder why some guys didn't blow up with the gas in the tubes.

I'm probably the only one that had to jack up my car to change a flat with no jack handle for the jack.  |

yep 
you wouldn't believe me if I told you
we were coming home one night from Boston, late around 1:00 AM after a little 
drivers front tire on my MGB was flat, didn't even know it till I got on the highway and some guy pointed it out to me 
had a jack but no handle so I used a screwdriver and my buddy lifted the car up a little at a time.It took a while. I was younger then and I once picked up my brothers honda civic(both tires) clean off the ground(one end anyway). That was back when I framed houses after I quit college. My back is in no kinda shape for that now. |
