				2012 fish on custom wood

Looks like we need to get the ball rolling. Here's my first on a homemade for 2012, on one of the blems I posted last week. |

				 | Got out last weekend Jamaica Bay with my kayak. Picked up a couple fish on a Danny I had made, although he was flapping around in the boat so I pulled the plug out of his mouth before I got hooked to him. Man, what a thrill to catch one on a lure I made... |

				 | No way in hell was I expecting this. May 4th, out hunting small with a xra 1083 and calcutta 200, 15lb fireline, 2 year old knots, a badly frayed leader, and a mini-skinny donny with little hooks. I'll be smiling for a month. |

				 | Just back from a great weekend canoe camping in the Adirondacks... caught a mess of smallies and LM bass (All C&R) and a few walleyes we had for dinner... here are a few pics of fish I caught on a gold repro design that I made... sinking swimming plug that casts like a rocket |

				 | Plug has a Russ Tango look to it. Neat. But what's with the tuna swivel? Lose that and your plugs will swim and fish even better. |

				 | Here is a cool one. Small fish, but on a copy of a Paw-Paw bass seeker.
Here is an old thread where it was discussed. http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...ing-ready.html Took me 5 years to get around to trying it. I think the design has promise. |

				 | Here's a conrad fish, nothing special (maybe #15), but illustrative that you need to cover the water column top to bottom when you fish. Tough night, very calm and little sweep, nothing showing. Worked the jetty spot thoroughly with dannys (surface), darters (midwater) first without a touch. I was pretty sure it was empty, but felt compelled to try dredging the bottom. Drove a conrad down, worked along real slow, made about 10 cranks and pow. Telling that this fish must have watched the other plugs pass over it 30 times without interest, but when I put a conrad in front of its face...... bingo. |
