2011 Cub Scout Pinewood Derby races

We had out Pack race in January, last weekend was a community race with a couple local packs (we'll add more next year), and tomorrow is the District Race.

Last weekend's race saw Liam come in second overall. Some fast cars and cool work by the kids. The car that was the fastest was the fastest I'd ever seen and by far the fastest timed on our track. Beat Liam by a car length and his was second fastest though he did win one of the 4 races against that car.

Closeup of the one of the finals heats. The "Roaster" on the left was extremely fast. Veteran PWD racers might notice a few interesting speed tricks on it. Liam's is on the right.

Was very excited for him, he did an awesome job! He has done very well every year and really digs it as one of the top two Scout events we do every year - the other being the annual Scout Camping/Fishing trip "Something Fishy" (which I believe the Somerset Pack goes to at Yagoog every year - Hint, hint)...

PS - at the pack race we had siblings races, and a "Dad's Race". The Dad's race had less rules than the Scouts/kids races
