I'm on another Datah binge.... big darters ...small darters...designs by Pinkney,Gibbs and Fretch.. and a few of my own as well... I've got a Musso body that the professor gave me I plan on making latter this week... I actualy made a new jig specific for the large 6 7/8 Pinkney style... used in conjunction with my angle jig, i can make a finished datah ( once the body is turned) in just a few minutes...It works so well , I'm going to make the attachment to fit all the other styles I make... I've turned, shaped , drilled and sealed about two dozen ( 6 -8 of each kind) since Sunday..

I've got two dozen ( 1 large 1 small) pencils in primer that I've got to paint... I've got sand eels to paint as well.. alot to do in a short time....after two week ends of striper related activities.. i'm hankering for spring..OH.. and there are a few dozen epoxied assorted plug bodies on my bench that need assembelly...I just need some time..

A good run is better than a bad stand!

As of right now done turning and building.

Going to concentrate my time on fishing and enjoying my life.

Over the next few months will re set up my shed for turning and be ready to go when the time comes.

Have a lot of stuff for this season!!! More than I'll need. Have all by bases covered dannys, pencils, spooks, needles, some flaptail hybrid things, peanuts, trollers, assorted metal lips and jointeds.

I just made an inexpensive plug display board I'll post up with pics of everything for the season.

Still would love to turn some cowboy jrs and ccbc 7400 surfsters though. Next time!!

Not much made. Too cold in the garage and what I did get done was mainly just me dinking around with paint. Need to try and make a dozen more just for some solid colors. I will build all year though anyways. I just pick away at it.

I'll make up some solid yellow, white, pink and blue/whites for March.

Moving is going to cut into my spring turning season, but with summer off I have time to spin between odd jobs I do for some of the older ladies I teach with.

Still need to build up reserves of the basics.

I have about 30 primed and ready for paint and I'm still building some new smaller batches. Just finished the first 4 in the last few days (previously posted over the weekend). It will still be winter here in WI for quite some time, and I won't be able to fish for Musky until the middle of May, end of May up north.

Excited to see what everyone is working on.

I've got what I need to start the season done. I've still got some paint to do from that last batch, and I'm working on ones and twosies of stuff I had started, put down and then never finished.

I turned 1/2 a dozen darters a month ago that I still need to finish, then its on to jig heads, pouring some rubber and maybe wrapping a 132 1L, not sure on that yet... Clocks ticking, 2 months to go...

Still turning and building, had a chance to test some new (classic's) last week so I will now turn more of them. Trying to catch up with painting also, and finish up some that I had put aside and forgot about.
Have enough made for myself for the coming season, just building for a few friends now and then I will be doing some reproductions.
And Prof.M, I have an idea for the eelskin Nike which I may work on very soon!

Right now I am building mostly stuff for a swap I am involved in but I still like to go back to my side project(s) to take a break. I have more than I can fish for the coming season, especially after Plug Fest. I will build a few more of my peanuts and some stuff to give away when I am fishing but no big batches for a while.

Here is a pic of the latest batch of hand carved blanks, ready for sealing. A man's bouquet. And a prototype squid I am fiddling with.

I was done building, but then started making a few more of the ones I really like. These three are my favorites so far.

Top is a Pichney jointed sandeel copy.

Middle is a medium 6.5" conrad and weighs 2.5 oz. Its bigger than the conrad jr, but smaller than the sr.

Bottom is a bluestreak/A-40 style swimmer. Its got a bluestreak body w/A-40 lip and weighting scheme.

The conrad is real cool. I only made a few, but will do up a bunch more prior to the season. I am also going to make a few slope head models for the canal and fast water areas I fish.

Been turning a bunch of odd ball metal lips and a batch of spooks and pencils to replace the ones that have been trashed. That and working on a bunch of replica swap plugs.

Darters?

I'd like to actually catch a fish on one first before I build one...I still don't even know where to attach the line on one of the damn things yet.

Got about 30 made and ready to paint. Too cold to paint outside yet. My shop is heated but I paint in the garage. I guess I will build a vented paint booth. Plugs are all trollers, Goo Goos, Danny knock offs, Bills, and a few originals.

Finished up some small flaptails. 4 1/2" and 2 oz. Wanted a smaller flaptail to use and borrowed some ideas from a few others on these.

Can't stop with the Goo Goo's. Thanks to everyone who helped with info on these, especially Eric W, Seabuggy, and Prof M. Made a few for freshwater using colorado blades for lips. These need a little more tweaking but its a good start.

Just need to make some pencils and thats about it.
