Cool Bambi in the garden

as i was getting ready to zoom down to the convience
store last night at dusk....

i noticed a doe right next to the garden...
which is full of sweet treats for a deer...

so i let the dingo out of the car...
to chase it the hell outta here..
which she did admirably....

after i got back i took the flash light
and did an inspection... and sure enough
hoof prints in the bed... so its time
to rig christmas bells on fireline
and other tripwire alarms...today...

i'll be peeing outside ->strategically now.

i'm not so sure peeing helps, raven.

deer are very curious creatures. i think they are attracted to urine.

in any case, good luck rigging claymores in the wire.

i'm not sure if mass is one of them, but there are several states that issue special nuisance deer hunting permits (good year-round) for agriculture.

I believe any "predator" urine will suffice.
I need to borrow a dog for a few days to "varmint proof" my back yard. We've got a family of destructive racoons thatwill be deterred by nothing short of a bullet. I don't mind wildlife in the yard. We've had turkeys, ground hogs and an occaisional skunk and possum, but pound for pound the racoons have done the most damage. They have ravaged my water garden 5 times in the past 2 weeks.
They have literally dumped my potted waterplants out into the pond, effectively killing the fish (too much debris/dirt particles in the water).
I was annoyed after the first couple of times, now I will settle for nothing less than it's head on a pigpole. It's bad enough when they scavenge through the trash and make a mess, but when you have to drain a pond and repot the plants EVERY time they go rooting for whatever, that's where I draw the line.
I tried mothballs, but they ingored them, and pouring ammonia works until it evaporates. Ammonia can also effect the plants and water, so that's a last resort. I want to try some strategically placed sticky traps (fly paper) to drive them batty. My last resort will be to trap and "eliminate" them as I see fit.
(This may seem like a lunatic rant, but to put things in an Al Bundy perspective: "It's either them or me!")

Took one out Monday night ,Near the 24 exit on I-495 with my GMC. Broke my headlight, bent my bumper. I was luckier than Bambi.

A semi diluted spray of Texas Pete Hot sauce with a touch of water sprayed on the plants and bushes they are eating really grabs thier attention, non fatal and bio safe and won't effect the veggies.

Why even try.........
