you plug it in the back

of the computer into a usb connection there...

then the computer
see's it and labels it f drive or g- drive
what ever drive ok
then you click on that drive and create a folder
right click the usb drive (window) for that menu
then you can drag and drop your files
to that folder

and majority of the time, the files you want to transfer, when you have the flash drive plugged in, you can right click the file, go to 'send to' and it will say Removable Drive or whatever its called and youll be able to move things that way to, instead of trying to drag them
btw, how big is the flash drive?

you need to "eject" or " unmount"the device either through "my computer" right click on the drive and click eject... or you will see a little usb device icon in your task bar. double click on that which will bring up your usb devices and eject it from there...The pc will tell you it is now safe to remove your hardware.

sometimes (not all times) it doesnt like just being yanked out. Especially in win98. And since you are transferring data that you want to keep..

I have on a few occasions lost all the data on the usb drive by just yanking it out. Or should i say the data didn't copy to the drive properly.

yeah computer drives don't like premature disconnection....
they think its quite rude.... and get pissed off at ya...

like shutting off your pc with the power button instead of
hitting start ..... shut off PC ...

and great point Mr Hunters....
