Happy Holiday instead of Memorial Day?

Has Memorial Day gone down the same politically correct road as Christmas and Easter?
Today I saw a public works sign blinking "Have a safe and Happy Holiday"
Also today some of my accounts wished me a Happy Holiday Weekend.
Are they told by their Corp. office to say this? I know my company refers to Merry Christmas as Happy Holiday. That erks me enough, now I have to deal with it on Memorial Day Too?
What about July 4th and Veteran's day?
Like on Veteran's day I am going to wish my Korean War Veteran neighbor "Happy Holiday". NOT!
I am not going to bow down to this Politically correct crap. I don't at the Christmas season and I Will Not on Memorial Day Weekend.
This year, like last year I am going to hang my 2 American Flags on the front of my 5er and then I am going to think about my Uncle that never came home to tell me stories of flying in a B-29 Bomber.
I am also going to think of the 3000 plus Soldiers that have died thus far in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Have a Safe and Happy Memorial Day Weekend.

I think you may be reaching on this on...they're just saying to enjoy the day off. Actually thinking about those that have died for you to enjoy that day off...well, that's up to you.

Maybe the "M" button was broke when they were programming it.

Last night we took the Boy Scout troop to the cemetery to put Flags on all the Veteren's Head stones....Make sure they know what the Holiday is all about

They might say Happy Holiday in this case because there's no way to say have a Happy Memorial Day. Bottom line is don't forget what the day is all about, and educate those who may not seem to know.
In Rememberance of Memorial Day, perhaps.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

We are getting too complacent.

Remember the people, show the Flag, thank all the souls that should be thanked. And not just on one day but every day.

Last night while we were puttin g the flags in my son comes over to me and says he wants to put a flag on me, because I'm a Veteran. I said "Buddy, this day isn't about me.....that one comes in November. This is to remember all of those who don't make it home."

Just want to make sure that the message is not skewed on what this day is all about.
