Oh great now my irrigation system has blown something

Turned on the irrigation system this morning and water is shooting out the side of the shut off before the backflow preventer. I don’t remember there being a small screwdriver clean out like there is in the other side. Looked on the ground and can’t see anything that may have fallen out.

Thoughts?

Looks like either there was a sacrificial fitting designed to blow out in case of over pressurization .. or some fitting just gave way over time and blew out.

I’m thinking the clean out simply snapped off. Now to see if I can get the male threaded part out or I guess it’s a new assembly.

I have it blown out every fall. Looks like it’s a 1/8” test cock that just snapped in two. If I can get the stub out with a screw extractor a 15 dollar fix, otherwise the entire assembly likely needs to be replaced. First world problems.

Stub extracted, looks like we’ve avoided a major repair. Thanks everyone for standing by me in this time of need.
