Hello, everybody!

I am new to this forum. Surfcasting is something I began to learn after I moved to MA this April. Even though I do not know any of you, I am really greatly appreciated to all of you for all the posts and discussions.

Just a brief description about myself:

(1). I am a die-hard angler and am seasoned in fresh water fishing. The following are my fresh water records: Walleye (31''), SM bass (21.5'', released), LM bass (19.5", released), Kokanee (23"), rainbow trout (28.5"), brown trout (26.5", released), channel catfish (32", released), white bass (17.5") and flathead catfish (39", released). Unfortunately, none of them made a state record.

(2). Before moving to MA, I had NO experience with saltwater fishing. So I have a lot to learn and everybody is my teacher.

(3). I did many crazy things. Being alone, in the middle of nowhere in the southwest desert, I fished side by side with a black bear in late November 2007. I was scared to death when I first saw the bear. Thanks, God. The bear showed more interest in the trash can than in me. In July 2011, I drove alone 16 hours one way to Lake Powell for hybrid striped bass, fished overnight, slept about 5 hours then drove 16 hours back home. On my way home, I never hated fishing/myself so much when I drove across no man's land in Utah and New Mexico.

(4). Now you see, I am a loner. I always fish alone. I realized that this is a very bad habit for surfcasting. Hopefully I'll have a surfcast buddy next spring when I am nobody's burden.

That's all about me. Glad to know you all. Happy fishing.

WELCOME to S-B
the Distances you traveled are (were) much larger
than you'll need here...and you could fish in 5 states
in the same amount of time both fresh and Salt
so consider..... that you have many more Options
