HVAC

I am looking for someone to possibly install another return air duct to my mothers HVAC system. The unit was installed in November, heat worked fine and this spring the electrician came and installed the thermostat (one that does a/c and heat) and connected the compressor up. Since, the unit is set at 73 degrees and the temp at 7 am is 74 which is fine. By noon its up around 78-79 and by 3 in the afternoon its 82-83. The small area where the return is also has the thermostat, and when you walk into that area its very warm. My guess is the unit is pushing all the warm air toward the one return and it can't handle it. I know this is not normal. I have tried to get the guy who installed the unit to return and add another return and have gotten nowhere. I'm not asking him to do it free of charge, I'll pay what ever it costs, I just don't want my elderly mother in this humidity. Is there anyone here that can tackle a small job? I will cut the holes, I just need someone to do the tin work.

Thanks
Spud

Try reaching out to Bobby (5/0) on the site. He does HVAC.

Check to see if the air filter is blocked in the return air duct

It is not blocked, that was mentioned to me by a friend and I already checked it. The original installer of the unit went by (unannounced) and told her it needs an adjustment. Then left without doing the adjustment.
