Years ago when I was younger and had more disposable income I would wlecome the winter months because it meant ski and snowboard season.
Now I look forward to ice fishing season.
Something about the potential of hauling a huge bass, pickerel, pike or trout through the ice gets me going on those cold winter mornings.
I also get to enlighten my younger relative to the joys of "outdoors" where there are no video games, no texting and plenty of fresh air!
I always tell them if they want to come fishing that they should also bring a pair of skates, that way they can skate around while they aren't fishing. Helps to keep them from getting bored.
Sometimes they even outfish me!
