Eric,

Some of the problems associated with s.c. are not from tannin, but rather the resin running after machining. The kiln temps used to dry the stock are not high to "set" the resin and some bleeding may occur. I would suggest micro waving pieces for plugs to a temp of 180-200 to fix the resins.... smelly procedure though. A wash coat of thinnned epoxy has worked for me on milled stock, but have noticed the bleed through on the opposite side.
