What is NASA? Once it was an organization that brought a country together in a quest for science, ingenuity, and significantly dangerous frontiers. Back then, it inspired young kids like me to (attempt) to be more interested in the sciences. America went to the moon.
In more recent decades it has been less of science, ingenuity, and significantly dangerous frontiers and more of FEDEX - certainly at the business end of rocket. Yeh, nice stuff in there like Hubble, (
some of) the mars robots.
But what's up with today? The Chief of NASA interviewed on Al Jezeera stated that one of NASA top 3 priorities was to reach out to the Muslim world, to make them feel more comfortable in their contributions to science.
Crash Stop.
Making Muslims feel good? Really? Is this some kind of joke? Another absurd misdirection of funds?
I significantly agree that we've done a peeess poor job of marketing ourselves on the "Muslim Street"
But NASA?
