I've been using one of those as well, for about 18 months. You can get wider toolrests elsewhere; I made my own by bolting some angle iron to the exisiting toolrest. Anyway, the machine works fine, but I should add that I now wish I'd bought a Jet or Delta midi-lathe, which are better-built machines...
