D Day invasion pics in the Enterprise

Looking at the first day of a whole series that ran in the Brockton Enterprise I was stunned to look at and realize the approximate age of one of the people who had beened storming ashore and was wounded. The soldier was being helped by another soldier out of the water and he was obviously an older fellow. He looked judging by his receding hairline to be at least thirty-five years old if not older, possibly in his early forties. When that generation was coined as "the greatest generation" it couldn't have been said better. Not that we don't have soldiers that old now, but I would bet that many of them that day were that older if not older. I was just stunned by what the picture said without reading the story beneath the picture.
