As for downloading directly from TV, U will need to contact Comcast. The way which I download and transfer is via a Labtop... Download what ever movie you want via Window Media Player then converted to a file that your Player will understand... You should not have a problem recording TV shows using a PC.. Simply bring the cable into your supported video card on your PC.. download there then transfer to your Portable player. Good luck.. contact your cable provider if you have issues...
