I was just driving by a stretch of beach saddled between some mansions and saw what I always see as a fine site about 5 casts out from the beach. Gannets doing the 30 mph, folding wind dive bomb on bait (and perhaps fish?). Far enough from the beach that Big Dave couldn't hit 'em.

When we brought the turtle up to the Wellfleet Audobaun Refuge they had a Gannet there (he was dead) who dove on and choked to death on a fifteen inch Striped bass. Gluttony can kill you!
Race Point in the late fall is a great spot to watch gannets by the hundreds just folding up and diving in after bait. Missile attack!
