I'm looking to build a 7' spinning rod for lures in the 1/4 - 5/8" oz size. One or two piece is OK. I'll be using 8-10 lb mono. This will be a bay/backwater rod.
My factory rod that I have been using is a 7' St Croix Premier that is 2 pc. Not a bad rod for the $. I don't like the dinky guides on the top and I like a larger diameter tip.
I like the Loomis Greenwater rods, but I don't want to pay $200 for one.
If I was lazy I could buy an off the shelf St Croix Tidemaster for about $90.
What blanks do you recommend?
