Oil/Natural gas commercials.

I have been seeing commercials from the oil/gas companies and they state that they employ 8.1 million people in the US. I think that is the number they quoted. How many of you know people employed in that industry? The only people i can think of are the guys and girls that work at gas stations. That would have to be a huge percentage of the 8.1 million people. Not exactly high paying jobs.

are you questioning the accuracy of the claims of number of jobs or the overall quality of the jobs?

I know a guy who travels for the oil companies as an equipment mechanic and he makes 12-1500 A DAY 30 days at a whack, not too shabby if you ask me..

When you think about the development, extraction, refining, transportation, lawyers and sales people I would think that is about right.
Not to mention all the politicians they have on the payroll.
