MICE

Little bastids cleaned me outta Dcon in one day. Every box GONE

I seen one day before yesterday. I think I fed the whole building :smash:

In other events I figured out how to fill chipmunk burrows VERY effectively. Leaf blower and p stone. Works pisser. I got a 5 gallon bucket down one hole on Saturday in 5 minutes:rotf2: Oh and a bit of lacquer thinner and a blow torch on a stick work good too :hee:

Raven 11-02-2010 05:11 AM

mothballs are cheaper than decon i'll bet

for the chipmunk hole

stcroixman 11-02-2010 06:34 AM

I filled up all the chipmink hole sin my stone wall sunday with concrete.

Mouse traps are out. I think I need to find something better than peanut butter though. The ants seem to like it too.

Raven 11-02-2010 06:43 AM

problem with peanut putter is that they can just lick it off

if ya glue a peanut still in the shell onto the tripper lever then they have to push down on it to release the peanut as they chew the shell.

Best mouse trap is the one sold at true value for 21 bucks...
i first freaked on the price but later found it was worth every penny when ya catch 6 at a time....

i've even left it outside after a mouse died in it (just skin and bones) from me not checking it...........
and the mice still went in there because a moldy old piece of suet cake (for the birds) was still in there.

I have squirrels in the attic. I promised the misses that I'd try and get a trap before I go up there and shoot it. Anyone have a spare trap and want to deliver it to my house?? No?? Ah well, I tried. Guess I can shoot it now.

Raven 11-02-2010 11:26 AM

Problem with squirrels in the ATTIC is once they have Babies
they are IMPOSSIBLE to keep out and will chew through wire mesh
even .....to get back to their nest. I've seen it first hand.

Also the babies by default if allowed to live will always be House squirrels and won't build nests in trees like a normal squirrel does.

Go get the HAV-A-Heart at home depot JD and spread a
piece of bread with peanut butter then top it off with sunflower seed.
it's either that or put a suet cake in there.... for a buck

because they cannot resist them

justplugit 11-02-2010 05:58 PM

3M has a new mouse trap called Big Cheese. Pre-baited
non poisonus around $5. Suppose to be good, we'll see.

Backbeach Jake 11-02-2010 06:05 PM

Peanut butter, case of beer, pellet gun, and a Saturday afternoon. JK

Peanut butter on the trap works pissa for me ..Mice Rats and squirrels can't help themselves. Takes a week to get them comeing, but after that it's like rodent opium.

Raven 11-02-2010 09:06 PM

no melt peanut butter suet

is better than peanut butter
because it has less oil but more fat

but for us its less toil to just have a Cat
who's allot faster than a mouse or a Rat

now you can go ahead and call me a loon
but i am sticking with my Maine Coon.

ProfessorM 11-03-2010 06:17 PM

i like peanut butter too but I always put some chocolate or an M&M on top of peanut butter as they seem to sometimes luck out and just lick the butter off without the axe coming down.

striperman36 11-03-2010 06:40 PM

Get a friggin rat terrier.

well .....................excuse....................... ..... me!

then you should just use a Reese's peanut butter cup
because they are so shrunken down now they are the perfect size for a mouse

LOL , you wild and crazy guy

UserRemoved1 11-04-2010 03:58 AM

ok WTF I come in this morning and sometime overnight SOMETHING dragged the empty Dcon wedge behind the furnace...about 3'

I would find it hard to believe that could be done by a mouse.

That thing was standing up facing the furnace yesterday afternoon because I looked at it.

Raven 11-04-2010 04:34 PM

it's ALIVE! :devil2:

chacubre" in Salty's shop

UserRemoved1 11-05-2010 04:31 AM

Frickin box moved again overnight. It's a foot away now under the furnace. I would not think a mouse was big enough to move a bait wedge like that around. Must still smell the bait residue.

Try this,
I learned "the" trick to spring mouse traps! Use whetever you want for bait. The trick is when you set the trap, place a BB or a small stone in the center under the trap on the bait side. Little mousey sniffs the bait and steps on the trap, it moves and Kapow! Your kill ratio will go up!

interesting. I'm going to pickup some traps this weekend.

The best mouse trap I have ever seen was a wire dome. All the wires went up and then down at the center to form a hole. Kind of like an eel trap. It had a little door on the side. Mouse smells cheese... Climbs up and goes in the hole... Eats cheese but can not get out of the opening because of the wires all pointing down.

Then you can release mouse at your neighbors :hihi:

Thought,
Bait for the spring trap, wear gloves, use peanut butter and add Decon to to the top like jimmy's on a ice cream. If they get away from the trap, they will die later....
Win win situation

UserRemoved1 11-06-2010 04:00 AM

The box moved again WTF

2' in the other direction.

striperman36 11-06-2010 09:45 AM

you have Decon resistant rats

UserRemoved1 11-06-2010 10:08 AM

well no mouse droppings anywhere...but i did see a mouse the other day.

UserRemoved1 11-18-2010 05:05 AM

Box hasn't moved in about a week. I figure I got whatever it was.

It moved last night over 3'

WTH could be moving this box of Dcon. :smash:

I got GHOSTS :alien: :usd:

Raven 11-18-2010 05:45 AM

rat

UserRemoved1 11-18-2010 06:20 AM

no I don't see it. There's just nothing here to hold them and have never seen anything around the food on the cabinets etc.

Raven 11-18-2010 06:23 AM

put down some white flour around the decon

then you can have tracks ID

UserRemoved1 11-18-2010 07:09 AM

MOST excellent idea
