Iraq war?

So after the deadliest month in over 2 years, we are pulling out our troops as planned. Mission accomplished??? What say you?

I say it's always a good thing to see our troops coming home, or even a downsizing of forces being scheduled. That said; who knows what will become of the state of Iraq....

As for the deadliest month, I believe that statistic refers to the Afghan theater, not Iraq. It is appearing to mirror the Russian experience over there.... And from those who have been there, I'm told it continues to be an ugly uphill operation.

It still hits home in many towns across America on a daily basis.

the end of an error..

they'll never be out of there.

I say good.

Being the deadliest month, all the more reason they should be pulled home.

Maybe after the major withdrawal is completed, there will be some huge event where Obama rides in on fighter jet to give a speech about the US's successes while standing in front of a "Mission Accomplished" banner.

Deadliest month in Iraq.....worse in Afghan. That being said, I'm worried that we have not had the same mission or any mission for that matter since Obama has been at the helm. He has been way to focused on job creation:rotf2: IMO I want them all home safe , I have family there, but I don't think we want all combat troops home this soon. They have a neighbor jusy waiting for that area to implode.

Won't happen...Obama never flew fighter jets. His dog however does fly in a jet of his own

maybe he could spark up a fatty...and declare..."mission....ahhhh. ....accomplished....or something"... :rotf2:

we will be there for quite a while, problem is...unlike Germany, S. Korea and other places where we have troops, there are those that like to drive car bombs at our guys on a regular basis....we will continue to lose lives...the extremists aren't pulling out....

But hey... We stopped sadam from selling his oil with euros. That's the reason we went in there.

Or a couple of lines of blow and "choke on a pretzel"

Our mission in Iraq should have ended the day Sadamm dangled.

Obama's mission was to get out of there without Iraq falling completely apart. I think if it's still somewhat stable at the end of his term his policy will be considered a limited success. People will always look at it as a Bush problem he inherited.

I think the bigger question is what will become of our Armed Forces?

We're not prepared nor do we have the resources for endless war. Rumsfeld for all his faults, did have the foresight to understand we needed to restructure and become more nimble. Unfortunately his belief in technology was at the wrong time.

I predict a decade or two of relative global stability while the top three countries ramp up production of very advanced robotic weapons.

Then it gets interesting as the energy crisis really hits home.

In the Past.........

One of our HUGE money generation ENGINES........
economically speaking...........
and to keep this country working has been to build and supply
modern weaponry.....of all kinds

i think what we have in Area 51 right now is sufficient
and supposedly that's a platform in space that can rain
down nukes as needed... that comes and goes....ect.
~
We need all new infrastructure as far as a new electrical grid
we need all new hybrid vehicles built
we need all new upgrades to roads and bridges
we need to stop putting corn syrup into all USA food crankin out
these giant fat people..... that are morbidly obese

OUR system of government is less efficient than when it began
our levels of pollution are off the charts

there's plenty to do here....M13 gang warfare, plenty of home grown terrorism abounds.....
Narco terrorism :point: a plenty

what with Hezbollah infiltrating South America and now Mexico
car bombs and IED"S about to head into America

so ..... we don't have to leave home..... to still be at war
so ....why should we...

TERRORISM! why leave home to find it?
