What's this place like ? I see Zappa Plays Zappa coming up there ... $ 80 a ticket ??

last time I was there was to see Wilco in 2001....I think it may have moved.... but if not it is a great venue....$80. a tix/??are you sure Ed?

It's a big room. Been a while since I've been there. Kind of like the Middle East but 10 times the size and much higher ceiling. :)

Isn't Lupos where the old Strand used to be now? I think this is their 3rd move in Providence. I've seen many a show at Lupo's(late 80's early 90's) though and really enjoyed myself.

I don't see a Boston show yet .. pretty full schedule

If reserved seats are available (balcony), I would advise buying them. The open floor can become so crowded that its hard to get a breath of air. I can't stand being in a crowd where people are bumping me from every angle. Been there many times but not in the last 8-10 years.

As Marshcappa mentioned, Lupo's is now where the old Strand was. I don't know if they changed it, but the Strand used to be a pretty good place to see a show. There's a parking garage right there and it's easy to get to. Also, there are some good places nearby if you want some pre-show entertainment.

I was there last fall to see Lucinda Williams - great venue - good sound. Get seats on upper level.

I hate to miss a year ... holding out for Boston but will hit Lupos or other Mass show if that doesn't pan out ... Every year has been differant time periods featured .. If I miss a Flo and Eddy show I'll puke on myself ..

Lupo's is still on Washington St.where its been close to 20yrs(at least since 90 when I got out of the AF).Lupos at the Strand was a different joint altogether and didn't last very long.

Dweezal tix are $29-$60.
