Look Pissa .. but did you test swim in heavy current ? Give them a tug and crank down ,,if they flip and come in upside down your still in darter hell .. Then after the test let them dry out a couple of days .. check for cracks .. I see you used screw eyes .. smarter than I was ..

Tagger I thought the same thing. You've really got to test some finished plugs and see what you've got.

I've been messing with darters a lot the past 2 months and every set I've made has been better than the previous set but I'm still not 'done' yet. Hopefully the last set I turned will be THE ones... I keep trying to make each side of the zig zag longer as mine had too much action and in current I think mine will go too fast resulting in lot of hits and misses...

Smart move starting with round blanks. 1/2 of the trouble I have is just turning the square stock into round stock thats the diameter I want. A little too wide or too thin and the action changes. They are the only plugs I make where I wish I was using a duplicator.

It's not over until you catch a fish on one!.. but your off to a good start... if you have trouble getting it to start, but it swims well otherwise, go up one size on the front hook, it often can make all the difference in the world.. Have fun!

Darter hell never ends :bsod: Sure, you can make a batch that swims right, catch a fish on them, do another batch and :gorez: That's why its darter hell. Course, I've always been an optimist :hihi:
