Paul, did you get the CD's I sent you yet? I sent you a copy of the Sound Track to The Last Waltz....had a feeling you would have an appreciation of it.
I don't care how many times I've seen it. Everytime they air "The Last Waltz", I have to watch it again. :smokin:
no K. I did not. I do not own a copy of it so I will enjoy it. Thanks.
the last waltz is the best!!! amazing talent there...the band is one of my all time favorite bands, those guys could rock!
Levon Helm played Newport this summer at the Folk Festival - yeah, I know, I already posted this...
I had to work - but just so happens that work is about 1/4 of a mile from the stage and on a strong SW wind it was like being in the press box - he was awesome, and the back-up band was tight What a talent pool in The Band - Danko, Robbie Robertson, Levon and...and... Hey would one of you guys who had less fun than I did in the 60's come up with the last name here... |
garth hudson and richard manuel...
Thanks, Don...:spin:
I woulda come up with that myself after awhile - just too proud to Google it...:laughs: Here's Levon with his band, taped live a few weeks after Newport, almost 40 years after the album version Paul posted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nx9LQNvZ3w8 |
I have always been a fan of "It Makes No Difference" and "Olphelia"
Levon's new album Electric Dirt is terrific with a lot of his funky drumming. There is a great version of the Dead's Tennessee Jed. Stands up with any Early Band record.
