Hey Mike - can I recommend items like having a burnishing tool on hand? What else do you think would be good? And how short of a time can a reel seat cure before using? I let them sit 24 hours myself but....
Some Recommended items to bring: Masking tape: 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch of you can find it Some clean - lint free rags (old, clean T-shirts work well) Razor Blades More Razor Blades :D |
I will try to have the rod building shop moved to the basement by then.
seats can be set up in as little as 1 hour. we should be fine |
Mike,
Not sure if I can make it yet, but I am interested in building a boat rod for livelining buckeyes in spring, maybe trolling swimmers, drifting eels on a 3 way rig with 3 oz or so. Do any of these kits fill the bill? |
Ah WHich 1088 is better the Rainshadow or the All star?
John knowing me, and what we talked about which would be better for me and eels, and plugs up to say 2 1/2oz the 1088 or the 1089? |
1088 - no question
Oh - you mean All Star or Batson - Allstar is a bit stiffer, the batson will load little better on lighter plugs. I can't say this for certain as I've only gripped and set the seat on my Allstar so far. But it definitely is a stiffer blank - a little heavier - it feels like it has a thicker wall. |
The All Star is a faster taper which makes it stiffer.
