Definitlly a lost art, most guitar players latched onto the Hendrix/Clapton style and went from there. Early Rockabilly guys like Scottie Moore latched onto country, swing, jazz and blues styles. Les PAul and Chet Atkns ( thats Atkin's style Gretch that Setzer plays) really took it all to a new level. Setzer plays some very cool stuff, I have studied his playing and his influences. If you guys really like teh Strat Cats stuff , check out Big Sandy and the Flyrite Boys and Deke Dekerson. Both are younger guys still playing and making some very cool music. Great guitar playing. I listen to this stuff all the time. |

I love his big band albums they are great and he is a great player. If you enjoy his stuff look into Danny Gatton you won't be dissapointed. I will check out the others too. |
