Crack 100 Reel Parts

I found a Crack 100 spinner in the basement and I need a couple of screws for it. Does anyone know if parts are available anywhere?
	Thanks, Fishpart |

Never heard of that reel. Probably one of the biggest parts sources for reels is Buckos in Fall River http://www.buckosparts.com/ He is the area factory service rep for several manufaturers, Shimano, Abu, Penn, etc... He may also be a good source for parts by e-mail. I'm hoping to get down there (Fall River, Ma.) to pick up some parts next week, like thumb screws for a 7000 reel I promised for the 1000th post ...
Mike T http://capecodtackle.com also has a large selection of old reel parts, he would be a good lookup as well... John |

This is a very old reel, I believe Crack reels were some of the earliest and the Very Spensive design was based on the Crack/Luxor. Bucko's sold out of parts in '85, I beive The Surfcaster has parts, but I have heard they only service reels but I have been wrong in the past. Thanks for the help. Thumbscrews , just ordered a 1266/2 from Mike T for that 7000.

You may wish to order a bearing upgrade kit as well. Aww Crap, that's going to cause another bearing -v- bushing debate ...

Let the debate begin, I plan on using this rig as a Canal set-up so long casting is often necessary. I will eventually add bearings but after a new rod it may be next season

Fishpart, Bill from The Surfcaster set out to corner the market on Luxor/Crack parts and prety much succeeded. He's about the only game in town, and you're correct, you have to ship him the reel. He will not sell you even a screw separately. If you're lucky, maybe he'll at least pay for the return shipping instead of charging it to your plastic

RE:Crack 100 Reel Parts

If you plan on fishing the Canal scrap the spinning outfit and go with a Conventional. A fairly stiff 10 foot stick with a good casting reel is what you need.

Mike, Thanks that is what I was hoping against.
