I had one sneeze that was so bad today I think my brains went flying to the other end of the office.

Arby 01-19-2005 09:51 PM

I got it in the middle of December. It took 2 weeks to finally leave me. Get some meds, weewee. It stinks :(

tynan19 01-19-2005 10:11 PM

Yep the wife and kid had it also. About a week to get rid of it.

Notaro 01-19-2005 10:32 PM

My mom just gave it to me. This is effed up. I got a party to go tomorrow evening, but I can't make it. My chest and throat burn. My mucous is clogging my nose and throat.

hooked 01-19-2005 10:37 PM

4 of the 5 of us have had it. One gets over it and the next gets it. Two kids on antibiotics now.

The sinus infection is the best part.:smash: :smash:

Notaro 01-19-2005 10:42 PM

I am taking four or five different medications for flu, sinus, and so on. The recovery rate isn't consistient.

How about you?

hooked 01-19-2005 10:57 PM

I'm on the rebound. Two weeks ago it was sudafed and amoxicillin. Nothing seemed to work so now I'm trying Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Airborne

You guys should try airborne its this new alka-seltzer like %$%$%$%$e you drop into a glass of water and drink. This teacher who was always getting sick from kids invented it. You take it at the firsy sighns of getting sick, or before visiting public places(airplanes, etc.). Its a bunch of different herbs and vitamins. Its worked killer for me. Ive started to feel like %$%$%$%$ and took it and was feeling 100% later on in the day. Ive used it 3 times in the last 3 months, so far its worked 3 outta 3.

fishweewee 01-20-2005 08:24 AM

for what it's worth, this stuff has really worked well for me. take it at the first sign of a cold/flu.

http://www.oscillococcinum.com

Bassman18 01-20-2005 08:30 AM

Joking aside, I take this http://www.coldeeze.com/ seems to work really well and is a lifesaver

Bassman, Notaro:

Try this $hit on for size.

It's China's answer to Wild Turkey. It's got a lovely fiery rotgut bouquet with just a hint of embalming fluid.

You might have some lying around the house, Notaro. :laughs:

I'm on the sick train too. Hit me last Thursday like a freight train. Started with a little cough, now I'm hacking up something that looks like lung tissue. Can't breath through my nose, constant headache, can't eat or sleep and my lips are so chapped they bleed when I touch them.

As far as medicine, I don't like to take it. Don't feel like it does anything anyway, but I had to do something. Tylenol cold/flu and robitussin. I don't recommend it . Still don't feel like it has been doing anything. Gonna try this other stuff today, but I've got the most faith in the JW.

Not me - never taken a sick day in 15 years of "professional" work - wife says I'm too mean to get sick :D

Jimbo 01-20-2005 10:31 AM

Crap, I think it knocked our whole town out right around New Years. Used unconventional methods to fight it. Used up anything with acataminophin and codene my kids had left over for the fever part, then found before bed a double or triple dose of Nyquil and a cough drop between my cheek and gum left me able to sleep thru the night without waking up gagging. The chest congestion takes forever to get rid of. Honest to god I felt really cold beer was the best thing to make my throat feel better and convinced the alcohol dries the snot out of you, too.

You are so right Bassman. It will cut your symptoms pretty good and if you take it as soon as you feel a cold comin on for a day, you won't get sick.
Only problem, it can cause some havoc with your stomach if you take it for too long.
