Amerigas

ohhh I'm ready to kill someone. As some of you know I make glass for a living and i use lots and lots of propane. they just doubled my propane rate without even a notification.. if i didnt use so much it wouldnt be such a big deal, but his could put me out of business:(

why oh why did i choose this profession??? :bsod:

RIROCKHOUND 12-06-2004 01:31 PM

Well come on E, that have to cover the cost of the 3 month strike..
Any other source for the propane locally?

spence 12-06-2004 02:33 PM

Dude that sucks big time...They do the same to us, the rate changes in huge swings with no notice at all...you would think because of the volume you use you could get a better deal...

I don't know who is to blame for the increased gas cost but my bill came with a notice, it is going from $0.3924 per ccf to $0.6424  This is natural gas thru the town I live in.
:smash:
A 64 pecent increase:eek: :smash: :smash: :af: :af:

TheSpecialist 12-06-2004 06:39 PM

Slip could that be your winter heating rate. I think my rate is cheaper in the summer, and they raise it in the winter.

mikecc 12-06-2004 07:14 PM

Screw them. When I put on the addition I got a new oil burner with 2 tanks for the oil.
I fill up only 2 times a year. And it costs less now with a much larger house that it did before the addition.

I remember when that pipeline from Canada was going thru. They said there would always be more supply than the demand; As soon as it was done they upped the prices and said there is a shortage.:smash:

Backbeach Jake 12-06-2004 07:25 PM

Amerigas SUCKS!!! I freakin hate them. They sent me bills twice for 100 bucks because I didn't buy enough gas! WTF!! Then they owe me 3 million cos I didn't paint their fleet. We went through 2 tanks of gas in about a week and I told them to replace the regulator. They said that there was nothing wrong with it. I said I smell gas. Got a new one. It didn't work at all. called them Friday night and beyotched. They ho hummed. I said that I smelled gas. A tech showed up and fixed it. Then I dumped their sorry butts and went through another company. I pay half of what I did with those morons.

Raider Ronnie 12-06-2004 07:56 PM

Eben,
If you don't mind me asking,
How big of a tank or tanks do you have and how much they charging a gal ?
I use propane to heat my garage, I have a 100 gal tank out back and haven't had a fill yet this year.
Last year it went close to $ 3.00 a gal :af:

Nebe 12-06-2004 07:58 PM

just to get this into prospective... I use about 900 to a thousand gallons of propane a month if it went up 10% i'd be grumpin :smash:

ThrowingTimber 12-06-2004 08:20 PM

I'm really sorry to hear this man. Hopefully there is a decent competitor in the area.
