6hSplit rings

i was comparing rosco 6h rings which are rated at 100lbs to some 6h that i got from stamina or Salty which are rated at 150lbs, they seem to be the same, does anyone know if they are some and are rated differant is there a differance in the stainless? doesn't appear to be any differance when i mangled them with a pliers Thanks

I only use Rosco split rings for smaller stuff now, not 150 lb test though.....
Bigger one's are 650lb test, not from Rosco. I've used others rings in the past, their ratings may be bigger I dunno.

Rosco 6H rings are not 150 lb test either, but each manufacturer rates their stuff different, there isn't a "industry standard" for them.

As a general rule the smaller the diameter with the same wire stock the hight pound capacity. I use the Rosco SS 4H for my lures. and They are rated higher than any other 4 SS. They use a heavier wire. If you want to do a test yourself. Just put a nail in a beem and put the split ring around the nail then put a piese of heavy wire/cable and attach it to a heavy fishing scale and see where the point is where it starts to spread. You'd be amazed at the difference between different materials or companies.
