Truth and trust abandoned...

11 Trumplican Senators and 104 Trumplican members of the House are planning to do what?????? Throw their azzes out I say. One of the most disgusting unAmerican displays of politics I recall. I wish the demise and ruin of all those Republicans involved as much as I would if it were the Democrats pulling this crap!
And given Trump's taped, and now public, illegal attempt to get a State Attorney General to change election results, I have even more fear of what he might stoop to this coming week as the election results are scheduled to be formally adopted.
Despite the wide disagreements over platforms, I would call on all Republicans and right leaning Independents, such as myself, to pull your heads out of your azzes and recognize this President is a madman!!!! Do not continue to support his base. Support America.

spence 01-03-2021 07:39 PM

Even the Republican Senators who I used to regard with some respect are for the most part either hiding or trying so desperately to split hairs...it's really depressing.

I know politics have been ugly at times throughout our history, but this has reached a level of insane, depraved clusterf*ck that everyone should disavow as just being poison for our kids future, not to mention the rest of ours.

^^^^^^^^^many saw it coming and we are one coup away from kissing this goodbye.

It's not a big step from trying to prevent people from voting and then trying to nullify the votes that were cast to ignoring the results of an election.

Poor Troll
You can't hide behind attorney client privilege to commit a crime with multiple witnesses on the call. Georgia is a one party consent state. Shaking down election officials like a two bit mob boss was so expected that they recorded him.

Listen to Trump’s whole call for yourself and consider — even if you voted for him — whether you really feel safe with the powers of the presidency, including the nuclear codes, in the hands of someone this desperate, delusional, and frankly demented.

you need some new material...they already tried the phone call thing....the "497 former experts of something or other signed a letter" thing has been done a million times....it's like they just recycle the narratives and the sheep gobble it up and regurgitate it..next you'll claim the russians are taking over the country.....lighten up...redecorate the bunker for 2021 pete(or is it 2121?)...have a little fun....if all that you claim is true nothing can or will come of what you currently fret about and they'll drag trump out of the whitehouse one way or another in short order and biden will lead us to victory

Tough times for you, but you soldier on, no real opinion of how wrong that call was, just more of you typical BS. So I suspect that you see no difference in a call to a foreign leader to help dig up political dirt and our president trying to force a state attorney general to find exactly the number of votes he needed to win the state. I guess if you believe that, you believe all the recounts in Georgia were fraudulent as well, must have been crazy liberals in the back of a pizza shop shredding ballets.

Your that guy that pulls over to watch children pulled out of a car wreck for fun. If Trump was a smart guy and we all know after four years he isn’t, he would resign today to allow Pence to pardon him. I hope he fights to the end, so George can come after him after NY has their way with him.

:spin: so bitter

Pete F. 01-04-2021 09:51 AM

You realize we are really having another national conversation about a Trump phone call abusing his office for personal gain?
The next DOJ must investigate or we set a dangerous precedent that a president is above the law.
Because in the current election, the only actual and provable attempt at election fraud was committed by Donald Trump and his administration.

i don’t like what the gop is doing. but i didn’t see any of the left leaning folks here, express any concern when democrats talked about impeaching trump before his inauguration. that wasn’t any kind of threat to democracy.

your concern about what the gop is doing here, has validity to it. it would come across as a lot more sincere if that concern didn’t disappear when democrats were the ones committed to subverting democracy. it’s only bad when republicans do it.

selective concern is fake concern.

Actually we've never been here before.

Pete F. 01-04-2021 10:52 AM

Can you imagine how many similar calls on other issues happened over the past four years that weren’t recorded.
It’s amazing how similar this call is to the “beautiful” call that caused his impeachment.
That’s the pattern of corruption that Trumplicans want to either turn a blind eye to or wholeheartedly support.

Because “I know the tape is bad, and vaccination is behind schedule and we’re going to pass 400,000 deaths (!) by Inauguration Day, but just remember how high the corporate tax rate used to be and how much lower it is now. And the judges.....”

Hypocrite much

President-elect Barack Obama won't be inaugurated for another ten weeks, but groups are already forming on the Internet to call for his impeachment.

Several groups exist on the social networking site Facebook, calling for the removal of Obama from office for a number of reasons, including planning to not uphold the Constitution of the United States and campaign finance violations.

Impeach Barack Obama was formed under the assumption that the winner of Tuesday's election will waste little time in violating his oath of office and already has more than 2,500 members on Facebook:

"This group has been created under the assumption that it takes approximately 7 seconds for a modern day President to violate this oath. So we should be ready."

Impeach Barack Hussein Obama seems mostly concerned with the Democrat's prior support for an assault weapons ban and accusations that he's a closet Marxist.

"Obama has voiced support for various unconstitutional programs such as the assault weapons ban, universal healthcare, and various schemes for wealth distribution. What are we going to do about it? RESIST SOCIALISM! IMPEACH HIM!

might as well start before he gets in office."

Don't need them at this point.

The lowest predicate for opening an FBI investigation is whether there is "information or an allegation" that a person has violated federal law. The higher standard is whether there are "specific articulable facts" that a person has violated federal law. Both have been met with this call.

And it's not just Tweety that's indictable, you think the other people on the call who kept speaking up are willing to go to jail for him?

In the Nixon adminstration there were 69 people indicted and 48 people—many of them top administration officials—were convicted.

Silly troll, Tweety lost and he's just trying to avoid the inevitable.

It's important to remember that investigating and prosecuting are two different things. There may be reasons that Biden's AG choose not to prosecute Tweety for crimes he may have committed, taking into account various factors -- that is prosecutorial discretion.
But the FBI is duty-bound to investigate violations of federal law if they have any basis to believe that a crime has occurred. they don't get to pick and choose. This was articulated in the Mueller Report, in explaining why they investigated obstruction even though they knew that DOJ policy would prevent them from bringing charges against a sitting President: They needed to gather evidence while it was available, and memories still fresh. Then it was up to a future AG, or Congress, to decide.
Remember that if the FBI investigates, they will interview everyone. And unlike in Mueller's investigation, Tweety's attorneys and pals won't have a get out of jail free card if they lie to the FBI...because Tweety isn't going to be President after Jan. 20.
Although: One thing to keep an eye out for, in light of the above, is whether Tweety's pardoning spree in the home stretch will include the lawyers and staff who were on this call with him.
P.S. Tweety can't pardon future crimes, so none of these people can be pardoned for lying to the FBI before they do it. But he can pardon them for any (federal) crimes they might be liable for in participating on the call.

Sure Troll

So many parts of the tape evidence Tweety’s criminal intent:
-lies, and no facts, to support demands
-seeking to find the precise number of votes to win (vs impartial scrub of votes)
-reminding Secretary he’s a Republican (how is that relevant?)
-reminding him of criminal consequences

It's a lot easier for you to call me Mr Whatboutism, than it is for you to admit your glaring hypocrisy, I guess.

How else do you point out naked hypocrisy, than to engage it whatboutism? Are you saying it's not worthwhile to avoid hypocrisy? Seems like that's what you're saying.

And your side no longer likes the word "mister", so you should use a non-binary phrase instead of calling me Mr Whataboutism,. shouldn't you?
