Cool find..
I'm out on block island this weekend and I was out on the south end under the bluffs.. What do I find??? An ancient sword. Probably from a shipwreck. The blade was rusted away to a withered toothpick but you can make out the brass hilt. I will post pics later.

Sounds cool.....do not clean it....consult a professional? May have significant history?

I think it needs to be x-rayed to see what's going on under all of the crusty rocks where the handle should be.

another cool find
was the latest woolly mammoth found so fresh it had clone- able blood but whats even more fantastic is.... within the blood they found an antifreeze agent similar to whats found in fish down 1 mile or so deep imagine getting an injection so your never cold again....? but then of course you'd prolly get wooly hair growth and end up looking like NEBE :rotflmao: |
Nice brew pot!
Anyway your find is very cool too. I know nothing about keeping relics from the sea but you may want to check into preserving it if you havent already. For some reason I thought I read or saw something a while back about how shipwreck items are somewhat preserved for years underwater but have to be handled in some special way/process when removed from the sea or they deteriorate once brought to the surface (exposed to air) Again I dont know squat about it but recall hearing something like that once upon a time. |
Where's the skull ?
and the buried treasure ?

I have it in the tank of my toilet. Every time I flush, it changes the water. Pretty smart, no?
