Bye-Bye Randy....

O boy my son will be heart broken

Raider Ronnie 10-06-2010 06:05 AM

Randy's on schedule.
I'm surprised he stayed on good terms this long !

BigBo 10-06-2010 06:49 AM

That could be a big mistake. Randy requires double coverage which opens the field to allow Brady the option to complete to the likes of Welker, Faulk, Woodhead (who I'm liking so far :uhuh:), etc.
Just saying. This move right now could bite them in the ass. Especially after this past weeks team building confidence boost.

It sucks. Big time! but if his hearts not in it here we don't want him. He's obviously got the personality to create problems in the locker room and completely shut down on the field. Wish we could get more than a 3rd round draft pick out of it.

Like Sydney Rice. I'd wait until his hip is ready to go....

The Dad Fisherman 10-06-2010 07:49 AM

Give us Peterson straight up :hee:

(damn, should never have started this crack habit)

You've got that right! Wes is now the #1, you double him who do you have left down field? Hernandez? Tate? ouch....

I agree with Luds we should have got a player in return possibly on the defensive side of the ball.

But this is what BB does and often turns out to be fine. IN BILL WE TRUST!!!

Slipknot 10-06-2010 09:00 AM

I guess it's gotten to the point where his distraction is not worth it. Brady did fine with a bunch of number 2 receivers in the past, they'll be fine now. They got pretty far with Reche Caldwell remember???

Tate will progress, and we know he can run

it's gonna be difficult to put 2 guys on Welker when one can't even do it

thanks for your time here Randy, it was entertaining, now we have a superbowl to win
see you on Halloween:grins: with Brett:biglaugh::soon:

american spirit 10-06-2010 09:04 AM

no good. i think this is a clear statement from bill b that this is a rebuilding year. welker will not be nearly as productive and i think Pats will have trouble making the playoffs. woody looked awefully tired monday. not sure if he will be able to keep it up week after week. not sure about taint being a deep ball threat. we'll see. it's cool to see some unknowns come out on the field and produce.

JohnR 10-06-2010 09:07 AM

I think Bill has ladies shopping disease, he can't pass up what he thinks is a good deal.

"Gee hubby, I know we didn't need an alligator trap here on Cape Cod, but it was too good a deal to pass up"...

The Dad Fisherman 10-06-2010 09:14 AM

He'll get his chance to rub it in our faces real soon....we play the Vikings in week 8

2 is better then 1. And now that he's the #1 he'll have the #1 CB covering him. This is going to be a difficult challenge ahead of us.

Wes was Wes because of Moss.

Now that you take away a #1 and a deep TD threat you have a smaller field to defend. I wouldn't be surprised to see a LOT more screens and dump off passes. Remember wayyyy back when Brady first took over the team??? He threw a lot of short passes. He didn't have that down field guy like he did with Moss.

It was definitely a blast watching Moss play here. Hopefully someone down the road will be as exciting as he was walk through that Patriots door. :fishin:

luds 10-06-2010 09:31 AM

Hopefully we have some kind of picks for a gamebreaker trade up our sleeve but we NEVER TRADE PICKS! WE ALWAYS TRADE FOR THEM!!!!!!! :fury:

TheSpecialist 10-06-2010 10:23 AM

Rumor has it that they want this to go down before Minnesotas Monday night game against the JEts....

All this talk about Welker getting double covered and you all are forgetting about Mini Welker picking up the slack. He played a Welker style game with good production while Welker was out, and Moss was getting tag teamed. I am sure they will be fine. Not to mention Hernandez has been money with YAC. :uhuh:

Lets hope the team that brutalised the fish show up the rest of year...

Ol' bug-eyes Reche... I couldn't believe all the dropped passes in that game....

"Oh snap! The ball was coming to ME??"

It'll be interesting to see what they do w/o Moss. It's definitely a huge hit to the offense. I guess they'll try to use Tate to stretch the field? But he has to prove he'll be an effective deep threat before defenses respect him.

But think of it on the bright side... With that 3rd round pick, you guys will be able to get 2 6th rounders next year! :biglaugh:

Strike_King 10-06-2010 10:30 AM

Bruschi was on SC a little while ago. Said Moss had become a locker room issue and a distraction and it was time for him to go. Troy Brown echoed the same sentiment on EEI as well. For the record: The Pats have now cleansed 3 of the 4 "Tardy Boys" from Late Gate last yr: Moss, Adalius, Burgess (and Guyton). Gonzo. Guyton is signed. So he's safe..

BigFish 10-06-2010 11:15 AM

I agree with BigBo that he opens up the field for Brady to explore his options but outside of that...since his 50 TD year w/Brady....what has he done??? Raider Ron likes to keep saying "He is no Jerry Rice"......and he is right! Moss does not catch too many of the balls thrown his way and if the ball is thrown his way he does not catch the ball! "But he is double covered" many say???!!!! What the hell do you think Jerry Rice was up against and he made all the catches....he was able to break out in the open when he had to....Moss just doesn't seem to be able to do that! The biggest difference between Jerry Rice and any other receiver is "Yards after the catch"!!!! Onward and upward I guess????

BasicPatrick 10-06-2010 12:49 PM

Moss haqs beenone of my favorite players for some time. There will be a shift no doubt. I sure hope they have a plan.

For Sale...all embroidered Randy Moss Jersey Home Jersey....theblue one...3xl

Tate will pick up some of the slack if he stays healthy. He's fast and has good hands. If Welker is doubled, Tate will have single coverage and that's a huge advantage downfield with his speed. The Pats also have a guy named Price who's supposed to be a burner. He hasn't been active in the first 4 games, so who knows what his role will be. I think they'll be ok with Brady throwing to Welker, Tate, Edelman, Hernandez, Gronkowski and Woodhead. There will still be plenty of targets, although it will be a little tougher without Moss.

EarnedStripes44 10-06-2010 01:47 PM

Its good for Minnesota

dumb sob...sulking because he's not signed beyond this year, so you'd think that he'd know that he's playing this season for his next contract...gee why would he not bust hump with brady throwing to him and have a great year :wall: million dollar talent with a .50 head...

TheSpecialist 10-06-2010 03:54 PM

There are reports he had a blowout at Gillete with Bellicheck yesterday, and an altercation on the flight home from Miami. On top of that he supposedly berated the QB coach.

What he said.
It could have had a great year, but no, he ego was wounded when they signed Brady but not him

Sea Dangles 10-06-2010 07:14 PM

3 years 50 TD's!!!!!!!

That is production,
Jerry Rice would have been happy with those numbers.

He pouted his way out of town because he knew he wasn't getting the contract here.If he gets 3 years in Minnie,he did what was best for him.

The Pats just lost one of the most exciting players I have seen wear the uniform.
Too bad he is such an ass.
