New Canal Cruiser and a treat...

With a lot of talk and pics of canal bikes I decided to join the ranks. Luckily I have a brother who is really good a rehabbing bikes in his spare time. So Keeperreaper picked up this fixer-upper from 5/0 a few weeks back. I dropped it off at my brothers place and he and his "assistant" worked on it.....

Pimped it out a bit with the usual items...

Then had his "assistant" do a few final alterations....:hihi:

Hey, a Specialized isn't a beater bike by any means. Nice find.

How is it swinging your leg over the back with the rod holders angled back like that? I've always used girls' step-through bikes for my Canal ride, but it's tough to find one with a big enough frame for me to pedal comfortably, even with the seat extended as far as possible. I was thinking that a large men's frame, and angling my rod holders back like that, would be a better way to go.

You don't get to test ride the assistant, I take it :hihi:

The hell with the bike lessee some more pics of the assistant :hee:

Yea mike, the angle seems to work fine. Instead of swinging my leg back, I just step over the frame, its not too bad.

...and yes, the only thing that I have test ridden is the bike. :btu:

Couldn't have said it better myself ! :agree:

keeperreaper 09-02-2008 05:46 PM

That definitely isnt photoshopped. I've seen the "ASSistant" in person. Let me tell you that is only one of a long list of assistants.

The Iceman 6 09-02-2008 05:49 PM

I'd like to be an Assistant to the Assistant.

UserRemoved1 09-02-2008 06:23 PM

Matt can we do a road trip I have a bike I need polished

Mr. Sandman 09-02-2008 06:29 PM

If I had an assistant like that I would never finish anything and probably not leave the house, except perhaps to make a liquor store run.

BigFish 09-02-2008 07:15 PM

Can't believe nobody said it yet but......I like the seat best!

Nice bike too!

UserRemoved1 09-02-2008 07:17 PM

I dunno Larry that seat looks a little pink around the edges. Kinda like it's been ridden hard and put away wet :hihi:

Redsoxticket 09-03-2008 08:26 AM

The bush behind the fence looks overgrown.

the maestro 09-03-2008 12:53 PM

the photoshop comment just made my 'assistant' blush. nice little pick me up for a nasty cape cod day. i think she's really getting into all this striper talk.

UserRemoved1 09-03-2008 02:11 PM
